Just a poem to all of you, Brown girls

One day.
We spent years saying that,
 It would be “one day”.

The day that we would be ourselves.
The day that we wouldn't hate ourselves.
To be what society made us become.

 We hoped so much that
sometimes it took our breath away
We longed for it for so long
That eventually we forgot and stayed.

We forgot what to say,
And decided to forgive,
 By keeping our fears
 To the Father
who always saw
us shed so many tears.

Tears were what we used to pray,
Tears were our way to say
That there was so much disappointment
Disillusion and anger.
Oh, sisters I know
how real and heavy
they where.
The tears, I say.

 But, oh well ,
Sisters,
Now, here's what to say,
 The day is today.
Today is the day.
 Because the sun is shinning,
And Our sky is no longer grey.

May I beg you pardon and recon it’s delay?
We have a long way to go I must convey
But, Oh! Melanin sisters,
What a beautiful story we can,
 From now on portray.
